Also known as, “Everything is Better With Nuns”.
At the painted monasteries of Bucovina, visitors are asked not to photograph the nuns who reside in the beautifully-painted monasteries (technically they are now nunneries, but they go by their original names). However, it’s hard to resist discreetly snapping a photo of the women who have dedicated their lives to their faith, and who now open the doors of their homes (or, their gardens at least) in the Bucovina monasteries to visitors- both pious and simply curious- from around the globe. As the nuns rarely need to pass through the courtyards and tend to visit the elaborate churches after visiting hours, you’re only likely to catch a fleeting glimpse.
