Also known as, “Everything is Better With Nuns”.
At the painted monasteries of Bucovina, visitors are asked not to photograph the nuns who reside in the beautifully-painted monasteries (technically they are now nunneries, but they go by their original names). However, it’s hard to resist discreetly snapping a photo of the women who have dedicated their lives to their faith, and who now open the doors of their homes (or, their gardens at least) to visitors- both pious and simply curious- from around the globe. As the nuns rarely need to pass through the courtyards and tend to visit the elaborate churches after visiting hours, you’re only likely to catch a fleeting glimpse.
