WPC: Spring in Waterton Lakes National Park

waterton lakes national park

Where the rolling foothills meet the Rocky Mountains you’ll find Waterton Lakes National Park.  My visit last year was on the threshold of spring (or was it the threshold of summer?), offering frozen vistas and lots of wildlife.  As I was driving home I had to pull over and grab this shot of a rainbow arching across the flat and mountainous landscape.  This had to have been one of the most perfect spring days ever.

Once again I recommend the Lonely Planet British Columbia & the Canadian Rockies for travelers who are interested in hiking the Rockies, whether you’re looking for an easy day hike or a multi-day trip through the wildnerness.
